I have an older version of ProStyle (version 2.2) that we were using on a website that needed to have its Wordpress updated as well.  We updated to the latest version of Wordpress and the version 2.2 gives an error, so just purchased the latest version and need to see if there is a way to upgrade/update the 2.2 version without uninstalling it.  We did some customization's that we want to keep and such, and not sure if they will be maintained or not if we uninstall the old version.

I am wanted to know this too.  I would think they would have an article explaining the best way to perform this function.  I had the same problem updating wordpress to 5.2.2 and it broke the site.

@wpatters1229

I got it to work. What I did was to rename the current copy of theme's folder to include .bu or .backup after the folder name to change it, then I went back in and installed a new copy of the theme that I purchased for the project and it works as intended and all my customization's are still there.
